- Beef, tallow, fat/oil of animal origin
- Counterfeit goods
- Exotic birds except a few specified ones
- Explosives
- Human skeleton
- Maps and literature where Indian external boundaries have been shown incorrectly
- Narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances
- Pigs and pig meat products
- Pornographic and obscene materials
- Specified live birds and animals
- Specified seashells
- Weapons
- Wild animals, their parts and products

Certain animals, i.e., camels, horses, cattle - Arms, Ammunition, and Firearms
One is advised to obtain a firearms' possession license in advance (or hold proof of exemption) in order to avoid delay and inconvenience on arrival - Family Planning Devices
Require NOC from Ministry of Health - Foreign currency
Importing Indian currency is prohibited. Foreign currency exceeding US$5,000 in cash or US$10,000 (or equivalent) in traveler's checks must be declared to customs on arrival. - Live birds and animals including pets
Maximum of two pets per passenger must be accompanied by a health certificate from country of origin. It is recommended that owner's obtain a "No Objection Certificate" (NOC) issued locally by the Animal Quarantine and Certification Services (AQCS) - Medicines and drugs
- Plants and their produce and seeds of specified varieties

- Semi processed hides and skins
