Fruit Salad
India produces a wide range of fruit. Apples, pears, and plums are grown in the hills; citrus fruit, pomegranates, and grapes grow in the temperate areas; and tropical fruit such as mangos, guavas, and bananas grow in the warmest zones.

Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1 orange
- 1 guava
- 1 apple
- 1 mango
- 15–20 grapes
- Seeds of half a pomegranate
- 3 tsp (15 ml) lemon juice
- ½ cup (100 g) sugar
- Water, as needed
Directions
- Peel fruit and cut into bite-sized pieces. Pour lemon juice over fruit.
- Combine sugar with a little water and mix to dissolve. Pour sugar syrup over fruit and mix well.
- Cool in refrigerator for 30 minutes. Serve chilled.
